CM calls for citizen-friendly permissions in core urban region

15-05-2025 12:00:00 AM

The Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has emphasized simplifying the permissions process for various construction and infrastructure developments within the Telangana Core Urban Region. Chairing a review meeting at the State Secretariat on Wednesday, the Chief Minister directed officials to conduct a comprehensive study and submit a report at the earliest on implementing an integrated, efficient system.

Highlighting the challenges faced by citizens who currently have to approach multiple departments for approvals, CM Revanth Reddy proposed the development of a single-window platform. This system would allow applicants to submit requests for housing, commercial complexes, and essential services in one place, streamlining inter-departmental coordination.

The proposed mechanism will involve departments such as Revenue, Municipal Administration, Water Resources, Police, Fire Services, Electricity, and others working jointly. All departmental charges will be collected through a unified billing system, with payments directly routed to the respective departments.

To aid in accurate property and resource mapping, the Chief Minister recommended the use of LiDAR surveys.

He also advised seeking expert consultations for devising more user-friendly procedures. Emphasis was placed on uniformity in departmental processes and ensuring transparent and time-bound approvals. Applications should not be delayed or denied without valid reasons, and applicants must be informed of any delays along with corrective actions.

The review meeting was attended by CM’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Municipal Administration Secretary Ilambarathi, CM’s Secretary Manick Raj, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Hyderabad Metro Water Board MD Ashok Reddy, TGSPDCL CMD Musharraf Ali, and MD of Musi River Development Corporation E.V. Narasimhareddy, among others.
