Miss World contestants visit historical sites

On Wednesday, the Miss World contestants explored the historical sites in Warangal.They split into two groups to visit the Kakatiya monuments. One group of 22 contestants toured the Thousand Pillars Temple in Hanmakonda and Warangal Fort, while another group of 35 visited the Ramappa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Palampet village, Mulugu district. The contestants arrived at the Ramappa Temple dressed in traditional attire.

Upon their arrival at the Ramappa Temple, the Miss World contestants received a warm welcome. Artists performed a Gussadi dance as well as traditional Kommu Koya dances to entertain the guests.

Later on, special rituals were held at the temple for the occasion. Retired Professor K. Panduranga Rao from NIT Warangal provided an explanation of the temple's architecture and history. The contestants were captivated by the ancient Ramappa Temple and were in awe of its stunning architectural features.

The arrangements were coordinated by Minister for Panchayat Raj Seethakka, who engaged with the Miss World contestants. Following this, there was a Perini dance performance and a light show at the Ramappa temple.

At the Thousand Pillar Temple in Warangal, tourism guides provided insights about the temple's uniqueness to the contestants, who were dressed in traditional sarees. The contestants expressed their admiration for the large Nandeeshwara idol, even touching it and learning about its features. The group later took a photo together on the steps of the Thousand Pillar Temple, and the contestants had a photo opportunity with Minister Seethakka during the event.
