Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed strong displeasure over the conduct of Narasaraopet MLA Chadalavada Aravinda Babu, warning that indiscipline and actions that bring disrepute to the government and party will not be tolerated.

The controversy stems from an incident in Palnadu district, where the MLA reportedly staged a prolonged sit-in at the Superintendent of Police’s office for nearly 10 hours. Aravinda Babu was demanding approval for the appointment of a legal advisor, Ramineni Prasad, whom he had recommended for the district police legal cell. Despite explanations from SP B. Krishnarao, the MLA refused to leave the chamber, insisting that he would not move until the appointment orders were issued.

The situation drew attention after attempts by senior leaders, including Minister Nara Lokesh and Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, to intervene reportedly failed, as the MLA remained firm on his demand. The incident has since triggered criticism over alleged political interference in administrative matters.

Taking serious note, the Chief Minister issued a stern warning, stating that personal interests cannot override party discipline or governance norms. “If anyone undermines the dignity of the government or party, strict action will follow. There will be no hesitation in suspending those who violate discipline,” Naidu cautioned.

He further questioned whether elected representatives wished to build long-term political careers or limit themselves to a single tenure, urging them to act responsibly. The Chief Minister made it clear that pressuring officials or staging protests within government offices damages institutional credibility and will not be condoned. The episode has sparked debate within political circles on the boundaries between elected representatives and administrative officials, with the government reiterating its commitment to maintaining discipline and accountability in public life.
