District Election Officer and Collector Rahul Sharma has called upon all eligible citizens to actively participate in the preparation of an accurate and comprehensive electoral roll through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process To create awareness about the SIR voter list revision campaign, a 2K Run was organized on Wednesday from Yellandu Club House to the Collectorate.

The event was flagged off by Collector & District Election Officer Rahul Sharma and Superintendent of Police Sankeerth. Collector Rahul Sharma described the right to vote as a powerful weapon in a democratic system. The Collector advised eligible voters to register their names and encouraged those already enrolled to verify their details through the Election Commission’s voter portal.

He said voters could check their names, make corrections, update information, or request additions wherever necessary. According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits from June 25 to July 24. Residents have been requested to cooperate by filling out and submitting enumeration forms during these visits.

Collector Rahul Sharma explained that the revision exercise would help identify and remove the names of deceased persons, individuals who have permanently shifted to other locations, and duplicate registrations. He advised citizens to contact Booth Level Officers for information regarding voter registration, corrections, objections, and claims. He emphasized that while it is important to include all eligible voters in the electoral roll, it is equally important to remove ineligible entries to maintain the integrity and credibility of electoral process.
