Collector calls for clarity on census

District Collector Haritha has instructed enumerators and supervisors to have complete clarity on every aspect of the house listing exercise being conducted as part of the upcoming population census. Speaking at a training program organized on Monday at the Zilla Parishad Secondary School for Boys in the district headquarters, the Collector informed that the first phase — House Listing — under the Census 2027 will begin in the district from May 11. She directed officials to collect details from house owners and ensure the enumeration is carried out without any errors.

Calls for preserving Basaveshwara’s legacy

Participating in the Basaveshwara Jayanti program organized at the collectorate under the aegis of the Backward Classes Welfare Department, the Collector described Basaveshwara as a great philosopher and social reformer of the 12th century who fought against caste discrimination and spread messages of equality. She stated that it is the responsibility of every individual to pass on the life history of Mahrishi Sri Basaveshwara to future generations.

District Collector Haritha participated in the PrajaVani program held on Monday at the collectorate conference hall and  directed officials to examine and resolve applications received at the field level without delay. In view of the increasing severity of summer heat, the Collector has instructed officials to set up Chali Vendras (cooling centers) to provide relief to the public. On Monday, she inaugurated a Chali Vendra set up at the District General Hospital along with Hospital Superintendent Dr. Praveen.
