Collector directs engineering officials to complete repairs to schools

District Collector Rahul Sharma has directed engineering officials to complete repair and maintenance works in all welfare hostels and schools before the onset of the monsoon season. On Wednesday, the Collector conducted a surprise inspection of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule School in Mogullapalli mandal. Collector Rahul Sharma instructed the concerned engineering officers to submit detailed proposals for repairs in SC, ST, BC, Minority, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Model Residential Schools and all government schools.

The Collector emphasized that every school must have 100% access to safe drinking water, functional toilets and uninterrupted electricity supply. He further directed officials to complete the restoration of toilets and drinking water facilities in all Anganwadi centres by May 10.The Collector instructed that once the tender process is completed, agreements should be signed without delay and repair works should commence immediately without any postponement.

As part of the 99-day action plan under the Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika, a “Welfare Week” is being observed from April 20 to April 26. The Collector directed all welfare hostels to organize programs as per the schedule with the active participation of officials from the concerned departments. He instructed that during this week, officials should visit all welfare hostels and ensure that hostel buildings and students are provided with all necessary facilities. 

He also called for conducting parent-teacher meetings, skill development programs and summer camps focusing on sports, arts, crafts, music, digital learning and personality development.
