Medicover Hospitals, Secunderabad on Wednesday has taken a significant step forward in advanced orthopaedic care with the launch of its state-of-the-art Robotic-Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery system, strengthening precision-driven and patient-centric joint replacement treatments.
The advanced facility was formally inaugurated by Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar in the presence of Dr. Anil Krishna, Chairman & Managing Director, Medicover Hospitals India; Dr. Uday Krishna Maineni, Senior Consultant, HOD & Chief Robotic Joint Replacement Surgeon; Executive Director Hari Krishna; senior hospital leadership; and leading orthopaedic specialists.
Speaking on the occasion, V.C. Sajjanar mentioned that robotic-assisted surgery offers greater precision, enhanced safety and faster recovery for patients. He expressed his gladness that such initiatives enhance the standards of healthcare delivery.
The newly introduced robotic platform is based on the globally acclaimed MAKO Robotic System by Stryker. The system enables detailed pre-surgical planning combined with real-time intraoperative guidance, allowing surgeons to customise procedures according to each patient’s unique anatomy.
Explaining the clinical advantages, Dr. Uday Krishna Maineni, Senior Consultant, HOD & Chief Robotic Joint Replacement Surgeon, Medicover Hospitals informed that the new technology acts as an extension of the surgeon’s expertise. "With appropriate patient selection, early mobilisation and, in some cases, same-day discharge are also possible without compromising safety ." he added.
