Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday said the PLI-Auto Scheme has attracted investments worth Rs 29,576 crore and generated over 44,987 jobs till March 2025. The minister also assured faster disbursal of incentives to eligible auto companies under the scheme.
Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automobile and Auto Component Industry (PLI-Auto Scheme) has an outlay of Rs 25,938 crore from FY23 to FY27. During FY 2024-25, four applicants submitted incentive claims and Rs 322.01 crore was disbursed to them. The scheme has created over 44,987 jobs across the auto value chain.
In a post on X, Kumaraswamy, the Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, said: "Chaired a review meeting with senior officials of the Ministry of Heavy Industries on the PLI-Auto Scheme. Guided by PM Narendra Modi's vision, the scheme has so far attracted significant domestic investments worth Rs 29,576 cr until March 2025 and created over 44,987 job opportunities across the automotive value chain.
"Going forward, we are committed to regular industry workshops, faster claim disbursals, and robust support to stakeholders, paving the road for a self-reliant and globally competitive auto sector". The PLI-Auto Scheme has been subdivided into the champion OEM incentive scheme and component champion incentive scheme.
