Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has voiced concerns about the declining influence of Telugus in contemporary politics despite their historical prominence. He recalled the contributions of eminent leaders like Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, PV Narasimha Rao, NTR, Kaka Venkataswamy, Jaipal Reddy, and Venkaiah Naidu, who once held pivotal roles in shaping national politics. He urged the Telugu community to renew its commitment to reclaiming this legacy of leadership.
Revanth was speaking at the 12th biennial conference of the World Telugu Federation held in Hyderabad on Sunday.
He emphasized on the importance of preserving and promoting the Telugu language while striving for global excellence. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister praised the late NTR for establishing the World Telugu Federation three decades ago to unite Telugu people across the globe.
Telugu is the second-most widely spoken language in the country after Hindi, CM said, stressing the need to respect and preserve the Telugu language, even as people acquire knowledge of other languages.
"We are committed to promoting Telugu by ensuring that official documents and GOs are available in our language," he said. CM also encouraged the Telugu diaspora to remember their roots and actively invest in Telangana to contribute to its growth and prosperity.
Highlighting Telangana’s development vision, CM Revanth Reddy shared the government’s ambitious 2050 development plan, encapsulated by the slogan Telangana Rising. He outlined plans to make Future City one of the most advanced cities in the world.
Calling for unity and collaboration between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister urged both Telugu-speaking states to strive for global competitiveness. “Together, we can showcase the strength and brilliance of Telugus to the world,” he concluded.
The event served as a call to action for Telugus worldwide to support the cultural and economic progress of their homeland while ensuring their heritage and language thrive for future generations.
