Telangana Congress President and MLC B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday reaffirmed the Congress government’s commitment to transparency, accusing the BJP and BRS of colluding on critical issues such as the 42% BC reservations.

Addressing the media at the Legislative Council premises alongside Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Seethakka, Goud said the Kaleshwaram corruption case is now with the CBI, and the truth will emerge soon. He challenged the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre to demonstrate its honesty by ensuring a swift and impartial investigation into the scandal.

Recalling that the BJP had previously referred to the Kaleshwaram project as a "money machine" for BRS leaders, Goud insisted that the party now has a responsibility to ensure those involved in corruption face strict legal action.

He further stated that the Congress government opted for a CBI probe—after receiving Assembly approval—to avoid any allegations of interference or bias that might arise from a state-led investigation by the SIT or CID.

Goud pointed to the findings of the P C Ghosh Commission, which he claimed laid bare the large-scale corruption by BRS leaders in the construction of the Kaleshwaram project. ‘Kaleshwaram has become ‘Kooleshwaram’ due to their mismanagement and greed,’ he remarked.

He accused BRS leaders K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao of misleading the public with false narratives and urged Union Ministers Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy who had earlier demanded a CBI probe to now act and push for a transparent and speedy investigation.
