In a key political development, AICC Incharge for Telangana, Deepa Dasmunshi, and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will hold a series of important meetings with Congress MLAs today (Thursday) at the MCRHRD Institute, Jubilee Hills. The meeting will also be attended by TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.

This meeting holds significance in light of reports that nearly ten ruling party MLAs recently held a secret discussion where they expressed concerns over some ministers not addressing their grievances. The Congress leadership aims to engage directly with legislators, take their inputs, and resolve any internal dissatisfaction to ensure smooth coordination within the government.

It may be a recalled here that few weeks ago, senior Congress leader and AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal made a surprise visit to Hyderabad, where he emphasized the need for better coordination among MLAs and ministers. He reportedly felt that Congress, after coming to power, needed stronger internal communication to maintain party discipline and effectiveness in governance. The upcoming meeting is seen as a follow-up to address those concerns.

The fact that the party leadership is meeting MLAs separately, a few districts wise, gives an indication that it wants to engage with a small number of legislators rather than all at once to get as many perspectives and inputs from them and that too separately.

Beyond internal matters, a significant part of the discussion will focus on preparing for the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections. Congress aims to secure a decisive victory in local body polls by mobilizing MLAs to reach out to the grassroots. A key strategy will be to highlight the government’s landmark initiatives, including the Caste Census and SC sub-categorization, which the party claims as unprecedented efforts in social justice. Congress believes that these initiatives will resonate strongly with BCs and SCs, who form a majority in Telangana’s population.

The leadership will issue clear directives to MLAs on how to effectively communicate these achievements to rural voters and consolidate support. The Congress high command is determined to leverage these policies to maximize electoral gains and reinforce the party’s commitment to marginalized communities.

Congress leadership is expected to provide clear political direction, ensuring unity among party ranks and a strong performance in the upcoming elections.
