BJP MP DK Aruna on Sunday sharply criticized the Congress government alleging that it is filing petitions to stall the Khairatabad Assembly by-election out of fear of defeat. She spoke at a press conference held at the party's state office in Nampally.

Speaking on the occasion, MP DK Aruna strongly condemned the Congress party for inducting MLAs, who had originally won on BRS party tickets. She lashed out at the Congress party, noting that while the party had previously vehemently opposed the defections, it was now shamelessly inducting the MLAs from other parties after coming to power. She remarked that these MLAs were currently in a pathetic state unable to even declare which party they belong to. She questioned as to why the Congress leaders who claim to be providing excellent governance and fulfilling all promises were afraid to face the public again. She challenged them to have the defecting MLAs resign immediately and contest by-elections if they truly have confidence in their governance.

DK Aruna alleged that both the Congress and BRS parties had been operating under a secret pact pushing the state into deep debt and stalling development. She expressed confidence that the BJP would win the Khairatabad assembly seat just as it had in the past and added that the 'Lotus' party flag would fly high there in the future. She emphasized that regardless of which party is in power in the state, the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to provide substantial funds for Telangana's development. DK Aruna warned that the people would inevitably teach a fitting lesson to the Congress and BRS parties for engaging in self-serving politics.
