Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) president K. Kavitha on Sunday demanded that the State government immediately declare drought-affected mandals across Telangana, pointing to a severe drop in groundwater levels.

Addressing reporters at the TRS party office, Kavitha claimed groundwater levels across the State have plunged by 20 feet. She criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, stating that despite performing a Varuna Yagam for rain, the administration has failed to address the worsening crisis.

Kavitha further alleged that rural areas are facing severe power shortages, receiving no more than six hours of electricity daily. Challenging the Chief Minister to join her on a visit to his native village of Kondareddypalli, she offered to demonstrate the extent of the power cuts firsthand.

Kavitha urged the Chief Minister to ensure uninterrupted power supply to farmers immediately and questioned why major irrigation projects along the Krishna and Godavari rivers remain unfilled despite abundant water flow.
