Suspended BRS MLC K Kavitha on Saturday launched a sharp critique of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership after the party’s defeat in the Jubilee Hills by-election.

Speaking to reporters in Medak, she said the Congress victory reflected public disappointment with the BRS, which she claimed had failed to work according to people’s expectations.

Kavitha targeted her brother, senior BRS leader K T Rama Rao, urging him to ‘leave social media and work on the ground’ if the party wants to regain public trust. She also criticized her cousin, BRS MLA T Harish Rao, accusing him of misleading the cadre. ‘Harish Anna should stop cheating. He must decide whether he is Krishna or Arjuna and play the game straightforward,’ she said.

When asked about Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s remarks that BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is inactive and facing health issues, Kavitha dismissed the claims. She insisted that KCR is healthy and accused the Chief Minister of using such statements for political advantage.

Kavitha, who has been touring various districts, spoke at length about local issues in Medak. After the by-election results were announced, she took to X and wrote, ‘Karma hits back,’ hinting at internal issues within the BRS.

She was suspended from the party in September after alleging that her cousins T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar were ‘tarnishing’ KCR’s image, particularly regarding the Kaleshwaram project. Since her suspension, she has been focusing on public concerns through Telangana Jagruti, the cultural organization she heads.
