A police constable from Tappachabutra Police Station saved the life of an electricity worker who suffered a severe electric shock while repairing power lines in Karwan on Thursday. Raju Naik, 44, an assistant lineman attached to the Karwan electricity office, accidentally came into contact with a live high-tension wire near Kummarwadi Hanuman Temple and fell unconscious from an electric pole.

Police Constable B. Suresh (PC 4938), who was on Blue Colt patrol duty nearby, rushed to the spot and immediately performed CPR after noticing the victim was not breathing. His timely chest compressions revived the worker’s pulse and breathing. The injured worker was shifted to a hospital with the help of locals. Doctors said Naik is stable and out of danger, adding that the constable’s quick CPR helped prevent a fatal outcome.
