Coromandel Launches ‘Project Mamatha’ in Kakinada

Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), May 2026: Coromandel International Limited, India’s leading agri-solutions provider, has launched Project Mamatha, a community-focused initiative aimed at transforming Anganwadi centres in the villages of Vakalapudi and Valasapakala near Kakinada.  As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, the company is committed to improving early childhood education infrastructure and fostering nurturing spaces for young children and women in rural communities.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Mr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Head, Fertiliser Manufacturing, Coromandel International who officially opened the upgraded centres and dedicated them to the local community. The event also saw participation from Mr. P. Padmanabham, GM, HR, Ms. Lakshmi, CDPO, ICDS, along with Anganwadi teachers, Coromandel employees, community members, and beneficiaries.

The transformed centres now feature a range of essential infrastructure upgrades, including clean and functional toilets, safe handwashing stations, hygienic and durable flooring, child-sized age-appropriate furniture, and engaging learning materials complemented by colourful educational wall art.

These enhancements have turned previously under-resourced spaces into vibrant, safe, and inclusive environments where children can thrive and women and adolescent girls can access critical support services. Speaking at the event, Ms. Lakshmi, CDPO, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), said, "The transformation through Coromandel’s Mamatha project has been remarkable. The upgraded facilities and child-friendly environment have created spaces where learning becomes joyful. This collaboration demonstrates the power of partnerships in addressing community needs and improving lives of our children."
