Nalgonda will witness a significant moment in public education with the inauguration of the fully reconstructed historic Bottuguda Government School as Komatireddy Pratheek Government Primary & High School on Tuesday. The school has been redeveloped with state-of-the-art infrastructure under the initiative of Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, through the Komatireddy Pratheek Foundation.

With a legacy spanning several decades, the Bottuguda Government School has played a significant role in shaping generations of students in Nalgonda. Despite its rich history, the institution had faced challenges due to aging infrastructure over time. Addressing this long-standing need, the school has now been completely modernised, marking a new chapter in government-led quality education.

The reconstruction, undertaken at a cost exceeding Rs 8 crore, has transformed the campus into a contemporary learning space. The upgraded facilities include spacious and well-ventilated classrooms, digital teaching aids, a well-equipped library, activity and functional rooms, and child-friendly amenities. Designed to match corporate-level educational standards, the school is set to emerge as a model government institution at the district level.

A key highlight of the initiative is the introduction of the Waldorf education methodology in a government school for the first time in the state. This approach emphasises holistic child development, creativity, experiential learning, and value-based education, with the objective of enhancing both academic standards and overall personality development of students. The initiative reflects Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s vision that quality education should not remain confined to private institutions but must be equally accessible through government schools. The Bottuguda school redevelopment is being seen as a decisive step in that direction.

The school has been named in memory of Pratheek, through the Komatireddy Pratheek Foundation, which has been actively involved in educational and social welfare initiatives. As part of this commitment, the Bottuguda school has been developed as a flagship project of the Foundation.

It may be recalled that in October 2025, the Bottuguda Government School was officially renamed as Komatireddy Pratheek Government Primary & High School. With its formal inauguration now completed, educationists and parents believe the institution will give a fresh impetus to government education in Telangana and serve as an inspiring example for similar initiatives across the state.
