City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, emphasized that effective implementation of Basic and Core Policing principles is key to preventing crime. He warned that any negligence or compromise with the integrity of the police system would attract strict disciplinary action.
Addressing a review meeting with senior police officers and Station House Officers (SHOs) at the TGICCC Auditorium in Banjara Hills on Wednesday, CP Sajjanar outlined priority areas including law and order maintenance, crime control, investigation, community engagement, technology adoption, and human resource management. He urged officers to perform their duties with utmost commitment, professionalism, and discipline.
The Commissioner instructed that police personnel should not be confined to a single role but trained to handle all aspects of policing. He reminded SHOs that they would be held accountable for all incidents within their respective jurisdictions and revealed that some previously mishandled cases were being re-examined.
Highlighting the challenges in policing, Sajjanar stressed that even minor crimes must be investigated thoroughly as they could escalate into major offences if ignored. He encouraged the use of advanced technology and artificial intelligence to strengthen investigations and improve efficiency.
He called upon all officers to uphold and further enhance the prestigious image of Telangana and Hyderabad Police across the nation. Senior officers including Additional CP (Crimes) M. Srinivas, Joint CPs Tafseer Iqbal and Parimala Hana Nutan, and DCPs from all zones attended the meeting.
