A criminal case has been registered against senior YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy for allegedly making objectionable remarks against women from the Amaravati capital region.
According to police, the case was filed at the Tadepalli Police Station following a formal complaint lodged by Kambhampati Sirisha, Director of the Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Caste (SC) Corporation.
In her complaint, Sirisha alleged that Sajjala made derogatory and inappropriate comments targeting women from the Amaravati region, which she claimed were deeply offensive and damaging to their dignity and self-respect. She stated that the remarks were not only irresponsible but also amounted to an attack on the honor of women actively participating in the capital region protests.
After reviewing the complaint and conducting a preliminary inquiry, police registered a criminal case against Sajjala under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to insulting the modesty of women and promoting enmity. Officials confirmed that further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
