Hyderabad: In a remarkable act of courage and quick thinking, Cyberabad Traffic Marshal Shivakumar saved the life of a commuter who collapsed due to heatstroke at the Suraram signal under Jeedimetla PS limits on December 5.
While on duty, Shivakumar noticed Raheem, a passerby, suddenly collapse in the sweltering heat. Without hesitation, he immediately administered CPR at the scene, stabilizing him before rushing him to Mallareddy Hospital. Doctors later confirmed that the timely intervention was critical in saving Raheem’s life, emphasizing that any delay could have had fatal consequences.
Cyberabad CP Avinash Mohanty and Joint CP Dr. Gajarao Bhupal lauded the marshal’s swift action. The incident underscores the vital role traffic personnel often play as first responders during medical emergencies on the road. Local residents and hospital staff also appreciated Shivakumar’s quick thinking, highlighting how frontline officers frequently go beyond their routine duties to safeguard lives.
