Nepali dacoity gang arrested in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: In a major breakthrough, the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, and Karkhana Police arrested a Nepali gang involved in a violent dacoity at the residence of Capt. D.K. Giri (Retd) at Gunrock Enclave, Karkhana, Secunderabad on Monday. The gang, which forcibly confined and assaulted the victim, looted gold ornaments weighing 23 tolas and cash of Rs 95,000. Arrested individuals include Raj Bahadur Shahi (36), Mahendra Bahadur Shahi (39), Gorkhe Bhadhur Kamee (40), Amit Bisukarma (22), and Subhash Tamata (19), all of Nepali origin.

Authorities are on the lookout for eight others connected to the gang. Seized during the operation were 73.35 grams of gold, 22.90 grams of silver, a Rolex watch, Rs 43,050 in cash, and five mobile phones, valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh. The gang’s modus operandi involved infiltrating the victim’s home by posing as domestic workers, a plan orchestrated through a recruitment agency. The accused tied the victim, assaulted him, and looted valuables before splitting into groups and fleeing the city.
