In what can be termed as an improvement in the disposal of cybercrime cases, the Hyderabad police has also managed to improve inter-state coordination to nab culprits. In a review meeting, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand informed that in the last two months, the city’s seven Zonal Cyber Cells (ZCCs) made progress.

Notable improvement was found in NCRP petition disposal, refund mechanisms, case detection, public awareness, inter-state coordination via the Samanvaya Portal, and Investigative Reports (IR) uploads to Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS).

The Commissioner noted significant improvements. Petition disposals rose by 65.15%, with 8,209 cases handled in 2025 compared to 4,970 in 2024. Refunds saw an 87.03% increase, totalling Rs 1.41 crore across 768 cases. Notably, IR uploads to CCTNS surged by 680%, reflecting improved documentation. Use of the Samanvaya Portal for inter-state coordination also improved cybercrime investigations.

CP Anand personally engaged with Zonal DIs, SIs, and PCs to understand operational challenges, assuring immediate support to bridge gaps. He praised growing public awareness in reporting cybercrime and stressed its role in building a secure digital space.

He commended the teams’ dedication and urged stronger collaboration with banks, telecoms, and judiciary for quicker resolution. Continued training and public awareness campaigns were highlighted as crucial for prevention and empowerment. Citizens are encouraged to report cybercrimes at the nearest ZCC, police station, or via the 1930 Cyber Helpline.
