Devotees throng temples to offer prayers on New Year

All the major temples in the Telangana State were thronged with devotees on the occasion of the New Year.

The devotees visited their favorite deity on New Year's Day and wish for all the best. The temple authorities have made arrangements to accommodate the rush. All major temples, including Yadadri, Bhadradri, Vemulawada, Jogulamba and others were seen heavy rush from early hours of the day.

The devotees flocked to Chilukuru Balaji, Birla Mandir, Peddamma Thalli, Jubilee Hills, TTD temple at Himayath Nagar, Skandhagiri at Padmarao Nagar, ISKCON temples, Hare Krishna temple at Banjara Hills, Jagannath Swamy and Sri Kanakadurga Nagalakshmi temple in Hyderabad city.

Meanwhile, the traffic across the city came to a standstill as people flock to temples.

Vehicles were stopped for kilometers in many places. The police force worked hard to regulate traffic in the city.
