Former minister and Siddipet BRS party MLA Harish Rao has lashed out at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Alleging that the CM had made dummy promises in the last assembly elections, he asked whether the CM also issued dummy cheques to the people of the State?
Speaking to media persons at Sangareddy district headquarters on Monday, he said the Congress government, which claims to be a farmer's government, was cheating them in all ways. “It's cheating the farmers every step of the way. On the issue of the farmers, the Congress party's words are crossing the forts but the hands were not crossing threshold of the house.
“Two months ago, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced a crop loan waiver for farmers in Palamur district. A cheque for Rs 2,750 crore was issued by stating it to be the loan waiver amount. However, the amount has not been credited to the bank accounts of the farmers so far. Even today, Sangareddy farmers have not received any money. Earlier, I had spoken to the farmers of Medak, Siddipet and Sangareddy districts. The farmers said not a single rupee was received by them. Is the cheque given by the CM not worth it? Does this government have any respect for what it really is? On November 30, the cheque was given and today there is no money in the accounts of the farmers. Did the CM give a dummy cheque,” he asked.
