Telangana BC and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, State Whips Adi Srinivas and Adluru Laxman Kumar visited Vemulawada Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple on Monday. They were welcomed by temple officials and priests. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponnam said that the Chief Minister has released a GO sanctioning Rs. 35 crore for the establishment of the Nitya Annadana Satram, which is the long-standing wish of the people of this area.
He said that the tender process for the construction of the Annadana Satra building is ongoing. He said that the trust already has Rs. 20 crores for the continuous continuation of Annadana, and it is the responsibility of the district public representatives and the people of this area to make it one hundred crores.
Minister Ponnam announced that he is donating Rs. 40 lakhs on behalf of his family to Nithya annadaanam. He also asked the devotees of Rajarajaswara Swamy to donate. He suggested that they should get receipts in the bank account in the name of the temple and donate.
He said that they can meet the local MLAs and EO and donate. He said that farmers can also donate rice and vegetables. He said that they will meet the donors in Hyderabad. He said that they took a cow ticket and an abhishekam ticket for the Vemulawada darshan.
The minister said that everyone can take a ticket and have a special darshan like Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. He revealed that they are making arrangements to have the musical fountain at Vemulawada, just like in Srisailam. On this occasion, the temple priests and officials welcomed the minister with a Poornakumbha. Later, they had darshan in the sanctum sanctorum and performed special pujas. They were accompanied by temple officials, Congress leaders and others.
