All arrangements have been completed for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election scheduled for tomorrow, with drone surveillance being introduced for the first time to enhance election monitoring and ensure foolproof security. Chief Electoral Officer Sudarshan Reddy announced that a total of 407 polling stations have been set up across 139 locations. The drones will provide real-time aerial coverage, allowing the control room to monitor activities closely and act swiftly in case of any untoward incidents.
To strengthen security, 68 polling stations identified as critical will be guarded by Central Reserve Police Force personnel. A 24-hour control room has been established for coordination between the police and election officials, ensuring quick response to any issues. Voters can also register complaints or report problems by calling the helpline number 1950, which will remain active throughout the polling period.
GHMC Commissioner and District Election Officer R.V. Karnan confirmed that all polling materials, including EVMs, have been dispatched to the distribution centres. He said that 2,060 election officials and 5,000 including police and support staff are on duty to ensure smooth and peaceful polling.
