474 drunk drivers busted in two-day drive

In a strict move to curb drunken driving, Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a two-day special drive on Saturday and Sunday, resulting in the booking of 474 drivers found operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol.

Of the total offenders, 381 were two-wheeler riders, 26 were three-wheeler drivers, and 67 were four-wheelers and other vehicle drivers. The authorities also released the Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) distribution of the cases: 30–50 mg/dL – 89 cases; 51–100 mg/dL – 183 cases; 101–150 mg/dL – 109 cases; 151–200 mg/dL – 56 cases; 201–250 mg/dL – 16 cases; 251–300 mg/dL – 12 cases; and over 300 mg/dL – 9 cases.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police reiterated its strict stance against drunken driving, stating that zero tolerance will continue and such special drives will be regularly conducted in the coming days. Commuters are urged to cooperate with traffic authorities to ensure safer roads for all.

Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad, emphasized that these measures are part of ongoing efforts to reduce road accidents and save lives. Authorities warned that violators will face stringent legal action. Citizens are encouraged to follow traffic rules, avoid alcohol while driving, and report reckless driving to help maintain road safety in Hyderabad.
