During a weekend crackdown on drunk driving, the Cyberabad police apprehended 431 individuals on Saturday night. Among those detained were 325 motorcycle riders, 16 drivers of three-wheelers, 86 drivers of four-wheelers, and 4 drivers of heavy vehicles.
Out of the total, 378 offenders had Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels ranging from 35 mg/100 ml to 200 mg/100 ml, 42 offenders had BAC levels ranging from 201 mg/100 ml to 300 mg/100 ml and 11 offenders had a BAC level ranging from 301 mg/100 ml to 550 mg/100 ml. All individuals arrested will be required to appear in court.
Chevella police recorded the highest number of arrests, with 49 violators, followed by Shamshabad with 44 and Rajendranagar with 43. In the previous week, the court dealt with 320 cases. Of these, 21 individuals were sentenced to prison, while fines were imposed. Additionally, 35 individuals were ordered to perform community service along with fines. The remaining 264 were subjected solely to fines. All the offenders will be produced before the Court.
