Amaravati: The IMD on Sunday said Cyclone Ditwah, positioned over the southwest Bay of Bengal near the Tamil Nadu–Puducherry coast, will intensify rainfall across Andhra Pradesh over the next two days. North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam may see light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and winds up to 55 kmph.

South Coastal Andhra Pradesh is likely to receive heavy to extremely heavy rain, while Rayalaseema may get moderate to very heavy rainfall at isolated places. Squally winds reaching 70 kmph are expected in some areas. Home Minister V. Anita and Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar reviewed preparedness, directing officials to stay on high alert, ensure uninterrupted power supply, clear fallen trees, and keep rehabilitation centres ready for possible evacuations.
