The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, inaugurated a two-day training workshop on the eLISS App Software on November 28 and 29, 2025 at the TGIRD Training Institute, Hyderabad.
The program targeted nodal and district officers from Southern Zone states, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Telangana. B Gopi, Director of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Telangana, inaugurated the event, highlighting the significance of livestock statistical data for policy-making.
Jagat Hazarika, Statistical Advisor, Ministry of Fisheries, explained that data from village-level surveys are compiled for state, national, and global reporting. Dr. Prachi Mishra Sahu, Senior Scientist, IASRI, noted that the eLISS App has been digitizing this data nationwide since 2023–24.
