Ellen Burstyn receives Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement

Hollywood actor Ellen Burstyn received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement award at the Venice International Film Festival. The award is presented to individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to cinema. She was awarded on Monday at the Lido di Venezia, according to the entertainment news outlet.

The actor, 93, is known for her roles in films such as The Exorcist, Mrs Harris and House of Cards, among others. She has also achieved Triple Crown of Acting in her career by winning an Academy Award, a Tony Award, and multiple Emmy Awards.

At the event, her film Flesh Impact was also screened. It is directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and imagines an alternate reality where Marilyn Monroe lived to be 100 years old. The festival started on September 2 and concludes on September 12.
