Telangana State BJP president N Ramchander Rao today demanded that Congress government provide 42% reservations to only BC community without allotting any share to other community.
Addressing a dharna organised by BJP OBC Morcha at Dharna chowk, Indira Park, Rao asked Congress government to omit 10 per cent reservations to Muslims from 42% BC reservations’ list as BJP would oppose religion-based reservations. A large number of party workers attended in Dharna which was organised demanding implementation of Kamareddy BC declaration where Congress party has promised and decided to provide 42% reservations to BC community.
Revanth Reddy government is trying to politicise the issue of BC reservations by organising protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi as Congress party is unable to implement 42% reservations and trying to blame the Centre to cover up its inability and failures, Rao alleged and demanded Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to apologise to Backward Classes for not fulfilling his promises.
Stating that BJP is the only party to work for the welfare of BCs, Rao said the party has made a BC leader Narendra Modi as Prime Minister and there were 27 BC leaders in his cabinet besides party has made five BC leaders as Chief Ministers in BJP-ruled States. But Congress party has never made a BC leader as CM neither in United Andhra Pradesh nor Telangana, he said, adding the Karnataka government had made promise of reservations to BCs before assembly elections in that State. But it did not fulfilled its promises. In Telangana also, Revanth Reddy government has raised the same issue of BC reservations just before local body elections. But it is not going to fulfil its promises, he said.
“Let CM Revanth Reddy explain how much money he has spent for the welfare of BCs in the State so far” he questioned and appealed BCs to support BJP which is fighting for justice to the community.
