Expedite land acquisition for National Highway expansion: CS Vijayanand

Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand has directed district collectors, joint collectors, and officials of concerned departments to expedite the land acquisition process for the construction, expansion, and construction of bypass roads on various national highways in the state.

In a video conference with district collectors and joint collectors along with officials from revenue, forest, Roads and Buildings, National Highways Authority of India, and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the Chief Secretary reviewed the pending issues related to land acquisition, forest clearances, and other pending matters related to the construction and expansion of national highways and bypass roads on Tuesday from the state secretariat.

Speaking on this occasion, the CS instructed the collectors and JCs to take steps to complete the land acquisition process required for the construction and expansion of important highways like national highways and to provide it to the concerned construction agencies in time.

Subsequently, CS Vijayanand reviewed with the collectors and JCs of each district regarding the pending land acquisition and forest clearances related to national highways. It was made clear that the land acquisition process should be completed in time by providing compensation to the farmers as per the provisions related to land acquisition and handed over to the respective construction agencies.
