Jeedimetla police have busted a fake vehicle insurance racket and arrested nine accused involved in cheating the public with forged insurance policies. Inspector Gaddam Mallesh said the arrests were made following a complaint lodged by Mrinal Kumar, a representative of Reliance General Insurance Company.

According to police, the accused were operating in NLB Nagar and surrounding areas under the limits of Jeedimetla Police Station. They allegedly created and sold fake vehicle insurance documents in the names of reputed insurance companies. Acting on specific information, a special police team conducted raids on the 27th of this month in NLB Nagar and apprehended nine persons involved in the racket.

During the operation, police seized a large number of fake insurance policy documents, counterfeit stamps, and equipment used to prepare the forged papers. Investigation revealed that the gang specifically targeted vehicle owners who urgently required insurance renewal, exploiting their need to make quick money.

Police warned that such fake policies could leave vehicle owners facing serious legal and financial consequences during accidents or claim settlements. Citizens have been advised to verify vehicle insurance policies only through official company websites or authorised agents before making any payments.
