Hyderabad police have arrested five members of a gang allegedly involved in the brutal murder of 30-year-old Rushab Agarwal alias Sunny Agarwal at Aramghar Colony under Mangalhat police station limits. The accused were apprehended on February 27 following a detailed investigation supported by CCTV footage analysis.

The arrested persons have been identified as Munna Singh, 31, a real estate and finance businessman from Jumerath Bazar; Laddu Singh, 30, a private employee from Takkerwadi; Maddur Pranay Kumar, 30, an insurance agent from Tolichowki; Thippani Uday Kiran, 20, a car instructor; and Kushangal Om Prakash, 20, a labour worker. Three other accused – Aminesh Singh alias Amresh, Kunal Singh and Mamu – are currently absconding.

Police said the prime accused Munna Singh suspected Rushab of having links with a rival gang after he revealed that he had recently been released from jail. The gang allegedly confined him in a shed and later shifted him to a Ganesh idol-making unit at Aramghar, where they assaulted him with hands, legs and blunt objects during interrogation. He reportedly died on the spot due to internal injuries. The body was later shifted to another location before the accused fled. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, a case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police seized three cell phones and two Activa bikes. The accused were produced before court, and efforts are on to nab the remaining suspects.
