Father, son drown in Taliperu River

A man and his six-year-old son drowned in the Taliperu River in Cherla mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Tuesday. The victims were identified as Ramula Surya Rao (38) and his son, Dev Harsha Bhargav. According to local residents, the father and son had gone fishing in the river near Dandupet village. During the fishing trip, they reportedly ventured into deeper waters and accidentally drowned.

Family members, with the assistance of villagers, launched a search operation and later retrieved the bodies from the river.

Upon receiving information, local Sub-Inspector Narsi Reddy visited the spot and conducted a preliminary inquiry. Police registered a case and shifted the bodies for further procedures.

An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the tragic incident. The deaths have left the family and local community in deep shock.
