Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Excise Jupally Krishna Rao said that presenting the history of the Gor Banjara community in the form of a novel for the first time is a welcome development. The Minister unveiled 'Poryatara', the first Telugu historical novel on the Gor Banjara community, published by the Telangana Sahitya Akademi, in his chamber at the Ravindra Bharathi on Saturday.
The Minister stated that the glorious history of the Gor Banjara community, which is spread across the globe, has not yet been made available in written form.
He congratulated the author, Aam Goth Venkat Pawar, for bringing to light their way of life, culture, adventures, and struggles in the form of a novel. Jupally Krishna Rao said the government is moving forward with the goal of bringing the histories of the Adivasi and tribal communities into print and upholding Telangana's cultural and literary heritage.
The programme was attended by Telangana Scheduled Tribes Cooperative Finance Development Corporation (TRICOR) Chairman Dr. Tejavath Bellaiah Naik, Telangana Sahitya Akademi Secretary Dr. Balachari, writer Venkat Pawar, Dinakar, and others.
