The Pet Basheerabad Police have arrested five individuals in connection with the brutal murder of businessman Syed Siddiq near Central Park, Kompally.  The accused, identified as Shaik Ahmad alias Noor (33), Shaik Rehmath (24), Kodimyala Shashi Kumar (23), Vagmar Raj Kamal (24), and Varikuppala Jampanna (20), allegedly conspired to kill Siddiq due to a long-standing business rivalry.

Siddiq and his father had been supplying battery lights to vegetable vendors for 15 years, competing with Shaik Mohammad and his sons. A previous altercation in March 2025 escalated tensions, leading to threats and intimidation. Fearing for their safety, the accused planned the murder, gathering at a welding shop before executing the attack on May 11.

In full public view, the suspects stabbed Siddiq multiple times and assaulted him before fleeing. Police recovered two knives, a Yamaha FZ motorcycle, and blood-stained clothes. Investigators used CCTV footage and technical surveillance to track the accused, who later confessed.

One of the accused, Varikuppala Jampanna, has a prior criminal record, including cases of theft and robbery. Under the supervision of senior officers, the Pet Basheerabad Police swiftly solved the case. The accused have been produced before the court for judicial custody.
