Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has organised a grand get-together of all retired employees at its old office Paigah Palace, Police Lines, Secunderabad today as a good gesture of bringing all retirees at one place to exchange pleasantries after a gap of many years of their retirement. Among the senior officials, Sarfaraz Ahmad, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA and other Senior officers attended the function. The logistic support for this event was extended by HMDA. There are about 423 retirees in HMDA and a large of them attended this event. Retirees Committee thanked the management for their excellent support.
The HMDA earlier was HUDA (Hyderabad Urban Development Authority), which was constituted on 2nd October, 1975 and had its headquarters at Paigah Palace, Police, Secunderabad, for more than three decades before moving to Taranaka Complex and Swarnajayanti complex in Ameerpet, Hyderabad. Thus the constitution of Urban Development Authority for Hyderabad Urban area completes 50 years having extended its jurisdiction with the setting up of HMDA. Now that the Paigah Palace is vacant. The venue is special to us as we have fond memories here, said an employee.
