FPTA and TPMA celebrate National Paper Day

The Federation of Paper Traders Association (FPTA), in association with the Telangana Paper Merchants' Association (TPMA), celebrated National Paper Day with a seminar at FTCCI, Red Hills, bringing together leaders from the paper, printing, packaging and allied industries. Director of Industries, Government of Telangana, Nikhil Chakravarthy inaugurated the event, while Sushil Agarwal, Managing Director of Deevyashakti India Pvt. Ltd. attended as Guest of Honor.

Chakravarthy highlighted the paper industry's critical contribution to manufacturing, education, packaging, publishing, e-commerce, pharmaceuticals and FMCG, urging stakeholders to embrace sustainability, innovation and technology. He also outlined Telangana's investor-friendly policies, including TG-iPASS 2.0, and reaffirmed the government's support for the sector. FPTA President-Elect T. Kishan Singh said National Paper Day was an opportunity to shape the industry's future and appealed for reducing GST on paper and paperboard packaging from 18% to 5%.

TPMA President Abhishek Vijaywargiya described paper as the foundation of knowledge and civilization, while Honorary Secretary Ashish Jain Bhansali reiterated the industry's demand for GST rationalization. FTCCI President K.K. Maheshwari praised the remarkable growth of India's paper industry, while industry veteran Narendra Paruchuri emphasized paper's sustainability and enduring relevance. The seminar also featured participation from leaders representing the printing, corrugated packaging and trade sectors.
