Hyderabad: A free cancer screening camp was organised for Insured Persons (IP)s  by the Telangana State ESI and Basavatarakam Cancer Institute on Friday. The camp was organized at the ESI Hospital, Jeedimetla under the guidance of Labour & Employment Minister Dr. G Vivek Venkatswamy.

Approximately, 231 (IP)s have turned for the screening among which 154 were Female and 77 Male. About 6 oncology specialists from Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital and 10 doctors from ESI have supervised the screening camp. 

Patients were screened with  X-ray, Mammography, Ultrasound Sonography, Papsmear and other tests as part of the screening. Efforts are on for an agreement between State ESI and Basava Tarakam Cancer institute for free cancer Screening camps for entire Telangana state ESI IPs in coming days.
