Gang stealing batteries, diesel from Jio Mobile

Siddipet: Siddipet police have arrested five members of an inter-district gang responsible for a series of thefts targeting Jio mobile towers across Telangana. During the operation, authorities recovered 18 stolen batteries, Rs 3.01 lakh in cash earned from selling the loot, along with two cars, an auto-rickshaw, and a motorcycle from the gang’s possession. The arrested individuals have been identified as Bathula Guru Swamy, Bathula Sairam, Alakunta Laxman Rao, Alakunta Shankar, and Bathula Sinu. Six other members Bandari Srinivas, Putta Anjaneyulu, Shilasagaram Ramachandram, Nune Mahendar, Md Hazeem, and Jogi Yadi remain at large. Commissioner of Police SM Vijay Kumar stated that the gang had stolen 28 batteries and 4,899 litres of diesel from multiple sites across the state. Known for previous vehicle battery thefts, the gang was traced following a complaint at Thoguta Police Station, leading to a thorough investigation that ultimately cracked the case.
