The agreement was formalized in the presence of Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, during a ceremony held at Undavalli.
As part of the agreement, Georgia National University will invest approximately Rs.1,300 crore in setting up the international university. The initiative will leverage GNU's expertise in investment, technology, infrastructure planning, and equipment to support the university’s development.
Speaking at the event, Minister Nara Lokesh highlighted that the partnership with Georgia National University will provide world-class education to students in Andhra Pradesh and place the state's education sector on the global map. He emphasized that the international university will not only enhance academic standards but also equip students with skills required for success in global job markets. He reiterated the government's commitment to transforming Andhra Pradesh into a hub for world-class education and leadership development.
The primary objective of this agreement is to enhance higher education standards, provide global exposure, modernize curricula, integrate cutting-edge technologies, and encourage research and innovation. GNU will offer expertise in various fields, particularly technology, business, and healthcare, ensuring Andhra Pradesh students have access to top-tier academic programs.
The collaboration will also facilitate knowledge exchange between faculty and students, giving Andhra Pradesh students an opportunity to experience international educational methodologies. GNU will also provide advanced training programs, collaborative research opportunities, and innovation-driven projects to support students' academic and professional growth.
Through its global collaborations, including partnerships with institutions like MIT, GNU aims to provide students with better employment prospects, both nationally and internationally.
