Hyderabad District Incharge Minister and Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has directed Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials to accelerate land acquisition for ongoing development projects in the city. During a review meeting held on Saturday, he emphasized the need to fast-track infrastructure works to ensure timely completion.
Officials were instructed to expedite land acquisition for flyovers, underpasses, and drainage projects to ease traffic congestion and improve urban mobility. The minister also reviewed sanitation, street lighting, and waste management initiatives, urging officials to enhance efficiency.
Pending Strategic Road Development Program projects, including flyovers and road expansions, are being prioritized, while street lighting systems are being upgraded to improve visibility and safety. Mobile emergency teams will be deployed to address drainage concerns and prevent disruptions.
The government is committed to strengthening Hyderabad’s infrastructure, ensuring essential services remain accessible. Citizens are encouraged to report street lighting and drainage issues through the GHMC portal or mobile app for faster resolution. With the monsoon approaching, officials are also focusing on flood prevention measures, including clearing stormwater drains and reinforcing vulnerable areas.
