Govt of Andhra Pradesh signs MoU with Wadhwani Foundation

In a significant step toward technology-driven governance, the Government of Andhra Pradesh(GoAP) and Wadhwani Foundation(WF) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate and accelerate the adoption of Emerging Technologies (ET), including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning Generative AI, Drones, and other advanced technologies across various government functions.

The MoU was signed by Katamneni Bhaskar Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication(IT,E&C) department and Prakash Kumar, CEO, Wadhwani Center for Government Digital Transformation(WGDT), Wadhwani Foundation. The MoU aims for using AI and other technologies for enhancing service delivery policy-making, capacity building and program implementation in the State.

Key Objectives of the MoU The partnership is structured around three core objectives: 

*Integrating AI in existing applications to improve governance outcomes, enhance service efficiency, and bridge the digital divide; 

*Identifying opportunities where deeper insight generated by analysis of data can inform and enhance policy decisions, ensuring evidence-based governance and 

*Applying AI and digital solutions to optimize existing government programs and schemes, making them more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric.

Capacity Building & AI Bootcamp for Government Officers

As a critical first step, the reskilling of the state-wide government system, including the state leadership, will be prioritized. Under this initiative One of the key programs of GoAP-the AI Bootcamp, will be delivered through WGDT’s ‘AI Champions’ and ‘AI Enablers’ programs, equipping government officials with the necessary expertise to harness AI for governance transformation.
