Habitual offenders arrested , gold chains recovered

In a swift operation, the Mangalhat Police Station arrested two accused persons on Thursday and recovered a stolen gold chain weighing 2 tolas, valued at approximately Rs. 2,48,000. The recovery pertains to Crime No. 371/2025 registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Mangalhat Police Station .

The arrested individuals have been identified as A-1 Upadi Bolenath alias U. Bholanath, aged 42, a shoe polisher by occupation and resident of Afzalsagar, Mallapally and A-2 Mohammed Khadeer alias Khader, aged 26, an auto driver residing near Choti Masjid, Murad Nagar, Asif Nagar. Both accused are notorious habitual offenders with extensive criminal records. A-1 has previously been involved in 58 cases, while A-2 has 55 prior cases across various police stations. 

During interrogation, the duo confessed to 11 additional offences committed together across the city. Additionally, A-1 individually confessed to one more case at Attapur Police Station. With these confessions, A-1's total involvement rises to 70 cases and A-2's to 66 cases. The arrests were made under the supervision of G. Chandra Mohan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South West Zone, and the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Goshamahal Division. 

The Mangalhat team, led by the Station House Officer, Detective Inspector, Sub-Inspectors and crime staff, utilized technical evidence to apprehend the accused and effect the full recovery of the stolen gold chain. The accused are being produced before the Honourable Court for judicial remand. Special commendation was given to Police Constables Lalith Kumar (PC 31473) and Balraj (PC 11181) of Mangalhat Police Station for their prompt action in detecting the case within a short period and securing intact recovery. Both officers were appreciated with cash rewards for their exemplary performance.
