Trembling hands and poor grip are symptoms that can disrupt daily life, from struggling to hold a cup to difficulty writing or using tools. Understanding their causes, recognizing associated symptoms, and exploring holistic treatment—including Korean acupressure—can help manage and potentially improve these issues.
Holistic treatment
A comprehensive approach often yields the best results, combining medical advice with lifestyle modifications and complementary therapies.
Grip Strengthening: Exercises like towel wringing, towel squeezes, wrist flexion/extension, and squeezing a stress ball can improve grip strength and dexterity.
Balance and Coordination: Activities such as yoga, tai chi, and pilates enhance muscle control and may indirectly reduce tremors.
Hydrotherapy: Aquatic exercises or warm baths can support weak muscles and promote relaxation, easing tremor symptoms.
Massage Therapy: Regular hand and forearm massage can help relax muscles and improve circulation, potentially reducing tremor severity.
Magnesium and B Vitamins: Ensuring adequate intake of magnesium and B vitamins supports nervous system health and may help calm tremors.
Korean Acupressure Korean acupressure, or Sujok Therapy, is a holistic technique that involves stimulating specific points on the hands to promote healing. Applying firm, circular pressure to the centre of the palm (the “Lao Gong” point) is believed to help reduce hand tremors and improve grip. This point can be massaged for several minutes, one to two times daily.
The treatment for shaking of right hand is on the right hand ring finger. In case the left hand is shaking the treatment is given on left hand ring finger. Take four pieces of Byol magnet keeping yellow side of two on the tape and pasting these on points 0 and 5. For other two, white side of the Byol magnet should be on tape and paste it on the points 6 and 8 of the ring finger (see figures).
