Dealing with loss of appetite

Loss of appetite can be a common problem in kids and in elders. It can be associated with some other health problems like digestive tract infection, lover problems like jaundice, cancer etc. Not to get confused with eating disorder anorexia nervosa. 

Common 

Infections like flu, stomach problems, liver and kidney diseases.

Antibiotics, chemotherapy, some painkillers or antidepressants.

Gastritis, indigestion, IBS, constipation.

Thyroid issues, pregnancy.

Overeating, irregular meals, lack of exercise, dehydration.

Patients should be watchful, if one experiences with symptoms given below nausea or vomiting, fatigue or weakness, bloating or abdominal discomfort, weight loss, fever, feeling full quickly.

Home remedies 

Eat light, small portions five to six times a day.

Ginger tea helps in digestion and appetite.

Lemon water or buttermilk improves digestion 

Some ayurvedic medicines boosts digestion.

Fresh fruit Juices

Avoid Junk or Greasy Foods

Yoga and walking can stimulate hunger.

Sujok Therapy

Stimulate the highlighted stomach point on the palm (see figure) and apply long seeds or green peas seeds and can keep till you are comfortable or for five to six hours. You can apply blue colour on that area.
