Solar Scam Shockwave

Former Minister Harish Rao alleged that along with the coal scam in Singareni, a solar power scam has also taken place. He strongly condemned that a major scam occurred in the 107 MW solar power plant, where instead of setting up solar power plants at three separate sites, a single tender for 107 MW combining the three sites was called to hand it over to their followers and reduce competition, preventing MSMEs from participating. He said that to ensure MSMEs and industrialists do not participate and to hand over the solar power plant to the desired consortium companies, they added a condition called "site visit certificate." He claimed they rigged the tenders in such a way that the desired consortium companies would get an additional Rs. 250 crores. He stated that the tender was awarded to Goltie Solar Power Private Limited, a consortium company.

He said that solar power tenders are continuing across the country, and producing one megawatt of solar power costs Rs. 3.5 crores, and moreover, the land belongs to the solar companies themselves. But in Singareni, since the solar plants are set up on Singareni land and power is produced, the state government and Singareni are going to pay the contractor Rs. 5.4 crores per megawatt. He claimed they rigged the Rs. 540 crore tender for those they wanted, and Singareni will have to pay an additional Rs. 200 crores. He said this solar power scam happened in Ramagundam.

Preferential treatment

In the case of the 67 MW solar power plant, they awarded it at nearly Rs. 7 crores per megawatt for solar power production, which he said is double the national average cost. They handed it over to the desired company for Rs. 480 crores, and he claimed that changing the site visit certificate rules here too was only to hand it over to their followers. He said Rs. 250 crores there and Rs. 250 crores here directly changed hands, totaling Rs. 500 crores in additional payments.

He said that today, Central Minister Kishan Reddy is going to the Singareni Head Office in Kothagudem for a review, as per information they have. He criticized that even though Kishan Reddy was the Coal Minister for two years, he did not pay attention until now, and only after BRS exposed it did an emergency meeting happen in Delhi, and Kishan Reddy came to Kothagudem from Delhi to hold a meeting on Singareni. He announced that he is writing a detailed letter to Kishan Reddy demanding an inquiry into this scam.

Explosives Scam in Singareni

He said that gelatin sticks are used for explosives in Singareni, and pressure was applied to purchase them at 30% higher rates. When a director named GV Reddy refused to buy at 30% extra rate under pressure, he eventually resigned. Later, another director VK Srinivas also refused to sign, so they demoted him from director to GM position. He alleged that by intimidating and threatening in this way, they changed rules and opened the door for scams worth crores.

Srirampur OB another Scam

He said that the unprecedented introduction of the site visit certificate is what exposed this scam. Here too, they called tenders with site visit certificate, with the last date being February 2. He demanded that if the site visit method is wrong, the Prakasham mine tender should also be canceled immediately. He said they called a Rs. 1044 crore tender for Prakasham mine with site visit certificate, so it should be canceled right away. In Srirampur, they called a Rs. 600 crore OB work tender, opened the technical bid, and extended the financial bid date seven times. 

He claimed that because Revanth Reddy's brother-in-law Srujan Reddy said so, the financial bid was postponed seven times. He alleged that due to the settlement not happening in a Hyderabad hotel involving the Chief Minister's brother-in-law Srujan Reddy, it was postponed seven times.

Inquiry by Sitting Judge or CBI... Letter to Kishan Reddy

He suggested that Kishan Reddy should investigate why the Srirampur OB tender was postponed seven times. He said they are awarding tenders with site visit certificate here too, and since the Revanth Reddy government came to power, they called tenders for 6 OB contractors with site visit certificate, and demanded immediate cancellation of these six OB contractors. On behalf of BRS, he demanded cancellation of every tender called with site visit certificate. He said more information will be revealed soon about irregularities in the thermal power plant Singareni is building in Jaipur, and demanded that Kishan Reddy investigate those too. He demanded that if Revanth Reddy has honesty, he should impose SIT on his brother-in-law Srujan Reddy and conduct inquiry by a sitting judge on the Singareni scam. If there is no "fevikwik" bond between Congress and BJP, all tenders called so far should be canceled, and a full inquiry should be conducted, he demanded of Kishan Reddy. He said whether the inquiry is by a sitting judge or CBI is up to them, but all facts should be brought out.

Scams in Singareni for CM's Brother-in-Law

He said massive scams were started in Singareni only for Revanth Reddy's brother-in-law Srujan Reddy.He said that when a minister wrote an official letter asking why site visit certificate was not given to his brother's company, this vote-sharing became a noose for the Congress party. That's why Revanth Reddy started diversion politics in the name of SIT, he said. This is not a small mine block scam; it's a very big scam, he alleged. An emergency meeting was held in Delhi's Coal Ministry.

Scripted Investigation Team

SIT is not a Special Investigation Team but has become a Scripted Investigation Team. He questioned why leaks are being given to the media repeatedly, and what evidence is there for those leaks. Media houses are also broadcasting those leaks as if they are really happening, but the actual situation is different from the leaks being given, he said. He said that even when he went for investigation the other day, false propaganda was done against him; what actually happened was different, and the script given to leaks outside was different. He said this is an attack on the Constitution in a way, personality assassination.

He questioned who is responsible for these leaks and what will happen to those who leaked. In KTR's case too, repeated false propaganda and wrong leaks were broadcast, he said. He condemned that the Congress government is doing petty politics and drama over these leak news. He said this is an example of Revanth Reddy's cowardice; only those without guts do such things. He dared Revanth Reddy that if he has courage, release the video, and if he has guts, implement the 6 guarantees and 420 promises you gave.
