Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President and Sircilla MLA Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao has issued separate legal notices to BJP MPs Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Dharmapuri Arvind for making baseless and defamatory remarks against him and his family. KTR views these comments as deliberate attempts to tarnish his political reputation and erode public trust in him. He has demanded that the MPs, who hold responsible positions, immediately apologize for their irresponsible statements, which he claims lack any evidence and stem from malicious political motives. Despite an ongoing court case related to similar past remarks by Bandi Sanjay, KTR noted that the minister has once again violated legal norms by speaking recklessly. The notices were sent through KTR's legal team.
In the notice to Bandi Sanjay, KTR's lawyers highlighted the Union Minister's allegations regarding the phone tapping scandal. During a press meet on January 23, Bandi Sanjay claimed that KTR's family had earned thousands of crores through phone tapping and had even tapped celebrities' phones—assertions that the notice describes as completely unfounded. The lawyers condemned this as intentional defamation, especially since a defamation suit against Bandi Sanjay is already underway in the city civil court.
In the notice to Dharmapuri Arvind, the focus was on the MP's personal attacks, including accusations of drug consumption and supply. The notice deems these remarks objectionable and unsubstantiated, emphasizing KTR's role as a former minister who contributed significantly to the state's development and the expansion of the IT sector, as well as his current position as BRS Working President. It argues that such baseless claims are driven purely by political vendetta.
The notices demand that both MPs immediately retract their statements and issue unconditional public apologies to KTR. If they fail to respond within five days of receiving the notices, strict actions will be pursued under civil and criminal laws. On this occasion, KTR made it clear that those engaging in character assassination for political gains will face legal consequences and pay the price.
